Tra Su is a protected landscape of 845 hectares, established by a provincial decision on 27 May 2003. It is a showcase wetland of the Bay Nui area, recording about 70 bird species across 13 orders and 31 families, along with 140 plant species in 52 families. The forest also shelters 11 mammal species, 25 reptiles and amphibians and 23 fish species, several of them listed in the Vietnam Red Book. Visitors ride a motorboat and then transfer to a rowing sampan that slips between cajuput trunks over water hidden beneath a thick green carpet of duckweed. On 15 January 2020 the bamboo bridge inside the forest was recognised by Vietnam Records as the longest of its kind in the country.
